Cheesy Garlic Knots

This delectable garlic knots were inspired by one of my favourite pizza places in Sudbury, Don's Pizza. They pair perfectly with a creamy garlic dip or marinara sauce!

Instructions

For dough:
  1. Add flour and salt to a large bowl and mix to combine. In a separate measuring cup, add water, yeast and sugar and mix to combine. Allow to bloom for 5 minutes.
  2. Add yeast mixture to flour and mix until it becomes a shaggy dough. Transfer to a work surface and knead for 5-7 minutes or until a smooth ball forms. Poke the dough and if it bounces back, it's ready.
  3. Add the dough ball to a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Allow to rise for 1-2 hours.
  4. Preheat oven to 400F. Remove dough and section into 8 equal parts. Roll out each ball to a thin circle and add 2 slices of cheese. Roll up the dough and twist it into a rough knot. (See video)
  5. Add the knots to a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Prepare garlic butter in the meantime.
  6. Brush with garlic butter and sprinkle with parmesan and serve warm :)
