Garlic Sesame Beef Skewers

These skewers are a staple in my family! My Aunt used to make them for every barbecue and they were a definite crowd-pleaser! Get ready to try the most flavourful & tender grilled steak you've ever had.

Instructions

  1. To make preparation easier, you can ask your local butcher to thinly slice the beef into "fast-fry" steak but if doing it by hand, freeze the beef for about 20-30 minutes before prepping to make slicing easier. Slice roast into thin slices and set aside.
  2. Slice green onions and grate garlic cloves. Mix all ingredients for the marinade in a large bowl.
  3. Place beef into the marinade and mix till all the beef is fully coated. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight. (Trust me, it's so much better overnight.)
  4. An hour before you are planning to barbecue, soak your wooden skewers in warm water to prevent them from burning on the grill.
  5. Place slices of beef on the skewers overlapping them a bit. (See video) Do not overcrowd them too much.
  6. Preheat barbecue to 450 F and grill skewers for 3-4 minutes on each side or until crispy. Enjoy :)
