Detroit-Style Pizza with Whipped Ricotta
For the third pizza in my series of Pizza Party Fridays, I decided to attempt the fluffy, rectangular pizza that originated in Detroit! It has a crispy, cheesy crust and it is elevated with a variety of meaty, and spicy toppings, especially with dollops of whipped ricotta!
Gnocchi Pomodoro
This delicious homemade gnocchi is so simple and comforting. Sometimes the best meals require a little effort, especially when that means you get to bite into a soft & pillowy gnocchi. The tomato sauce needs a little time to simmer but you’re left with a rich and balanced sauce to accompany any pasta!
Buffalo Chicken Pizza
For the second pizza in my Pizza Party Friday series, I decided to make a pizza that you could eat while watching the big game! But instead of shredding the chicken, I fried the chicken into little bites which was a huge game changer!
Lasagna Fritters
These pasta roll-ups are filled with a cheesy ricotta mixture, breaded, and fried, and dipped into a rich tomato sauce. They are perfect if you’re trying to get more comfortable with fresh pasta, and they’re perfect for feeding a crowd!
Dill and Chive Potato Pancakes
Sometimes pirogies are intimating to make because they’re a little time consuming. But if you’re craving the flavour of pirogies, with half of the effort, these potato pancakes are for you. They have the same flavour and toppings, such as, bacon, onions and sour cream! They’re a classic comfort food in my household.
Chicken Burrito Bowls
I’m obsessed with burritos and burrito bowls and this one was so satisfying to try! It’s perfect for bigger families, because you can customize them any way you like. The chicken is so juicy and pairs so well with the fresh ingredients!
Braised Beef Tomato Sauce
One of my favourite pasta sauces is a hearty bolognese with lots of parmesan on top, and this one requires barely any prep if you already have the braised beef on hand!
Braised Beef Cottage Pie
This cottage pie is so simple to make since the beef filling is already prepped and full of flavour!
Braised Beef Grilled Cheese
This is a fool-proof way for making grilled cheese and is made especially delicious with the addition of braised beef!
Red Wine Braised Beef
This braised beef recipe is so savoury, slightly sweet and works so well with almost everything. It takes little prep and finishes off in the oven. I love to use mine for sandwiches, pasta sauce, fillings for ravioli, lasagna, cottage pie etc!
Fried Chicken Clubhouse Sandwich
This huge sandwich was a delicious take on the classic C.L.U.B with the regular chicken substituted with thin slices of perfectly crispy fried chicken. My favourite white bread recipe, I’ve included in the notes!
Baked Ziti
This is one of the most comforting pasta dishes I’ve ever had. It’s a rich bolognese, with layers of mozzarella cheese and a creamy béchamel. It’s more or less a lasagna with less work involved - unless you’re like me, and like making fresh pasta ;)
Lobster Rolls
My sister brought me back fresh Lobster meat from when she visited the East Coast, so of course, I had to make Lobster Rolls! I’ve never had one so I measured to taste and they turned out fantastic!
The Ultimate Burger
This burger has so much going on, but in the best way. It is a freshly ground beef burger, tangy bacon jam, crispy onion rings, peppercorn aioli, on a fresh potato bun. This is honestly the best burger I’ve ever had and it is worth the effort!
Easy Homemade Pizza
This pizza recipe is my go-to for when I’m craving pizza. It takes an hour, total, to put together, and anyone can do it!
Grilled Zucchini with Whipped Feta
This is a perfect side dish in the summer, when zucchinis are in season! I always find myself with a surplus of zucchinis and grilling them is my favourite way to bring out their natural sweetness. I pair the grilled zucchini with a spicy, tangy, whipped feta to balance them out!
Crispy Roasted Potatoes
These roasted potatoes are the ultimate side dish! They are boiled, tossed in a herb & garlic infused olive oil, baked in hot beef tallow, and develop the crispiest outer edges and burst with flavour in every bite.
Smoked Brisket
I’ve been trying to get better with smoker recipes ever since getting my smoker in the summer. This is the brisket recipe I’ve used twice and both times it turned it juicy and flavourful.
Garlic Confit Chicken Linguine
This is what you do when you have to get rid of 10 bulbs of garlic! You make a creamy garlic confit pasta with roasted lemon chicken that falls off the bone. This is decadent, easy and delicious!
