Spicy Vodka Pizza
The addicting vodka sauce is even more delicious on a pizza if you can believe it! I make this sauce at least twice a month, whether I want to add it to chicken parmesan, pasta, or make a delicious pizza with it. It’s always a crowd-pleaser, and if you have any vegetarian friends, this pizza is the perfect substitute.

Instructions
To prepare dough:
- Mix warm water, yeast, sugar and olive oil in a measuring glass. Allow to sit for 5 minutes for the yeast to bloom.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
- When the yeast is bloomed, add the yeast mixture to the flour and stir until it becomes a shaggy dough.
- Transfer dough to a work surface, and knead for about 10 minutes or until it becomes a smooth dough.
- Add dough to a greased bowl and cover with a kitchen towel and allow to rise for 1 hour.
To prepare vodka sauce:
- Add olive oil to a saucepan on medium heat. Add in your diced onion and sweat them for about 5-7 minutes. Add in your seasonings and a pinch of salt and stir to combine.
- Add in your tomato paste and grated garlic and cook out for about 3-4 minutes until the tomato paste is darkened slightly.
- Deglaze with your vodka and stir. Cook out for 1-2 minutes or until you can't smell the vodka anymore.
- Add in your heavy cream, stirring slowly to combine. Decrease the heat to medium-low. Add in your grated parmesan and butter and stir. Taste for any additional salt that needs to be added.
- Add your sauce into a jar, and using an immersion blender, blend it until smooth. Transfer to the fridge to cool.
To prepare pizza:
- Preheat your oven to 450 F and add in your pizza steel or stone.
- Roll out your dough, leaving a thicker crust around the edge. Ensure to add additional flour underneath so it doesn't stick. Then add a generous amount of your cooled vodka sauce. (You will have a little sauce leftover if you make 2 pizzas)
- Add on your grated mozzarella cheese and slices of fresh mozzarella. Using a pizza peel, carefully transfer your pizza to the pizza stone and cook for about 15-20 minutes or until the pizza crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Transfer to parchment paper, slice and add additional parmesan and fresh basil and pepper flakes. Enjoy!
